I am writing this letter to praise the efforts, diligence and excellent co-counsel work of David Derfel.

We were handling a personal injury/ motorcycle accident in Florida involving our Canadian client. The client’s own Canadian insurance company attempted to take advantage of our non-Canadian law licensure by refusing to cooperate in terms of insurance policy coverages or medical bill payment. They eventually and unilaterally send the medical payments benefits directly to our client without advising us. When the client was done treating, the Canadian insurance company refused to respond to our uninsured motorist bodily injury settlement attempts.

We were lucky to have found David Derfel. He quickly took charge of this situation. He got the insurance company to pay thousands of dollars more of the medical payments coverages, in excess of the medical bills. He then promptly brought a formal claim when the insurance company refused to fairly deal with him. After he moved this case along as quickly as possible, he eventually obtained a settlement with the Canadian Insurance company that was extremely fair to our client.
